It all begins with an idea.

Ladies Who Brunch was founded by Dr. Kara Otuomagie - a Stollery kid herself. After being rushed to the Stollery Children’s Hospital not once, but twice as a child; she made it her mission as an adult to give back to the very hospital that saved her life.

Dr. Otuomagie volunteered at the in-patient clinic of the Stollery during her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta. After completing her graduate studies in Toronto, she went on to join the Stollery Women’s Network becoming an Advisory Board member and Event Committee Chair.
Pairing her love for brunch and wanting to give back and raise awareness in her community, she founded Ladies Who Brunch in 2018.

As a Board Trustee with the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Dr. Otuomagie is honoured that Ladies Who Brunch celebrates seven years in the making, raising over $100,000 for family and patient - centred at the Stollery. In her spare time, you can find Dr. Otuomagie supporting the sweaty pursuits of her patients at her multi-disciplinary clinic Kinetic Living, coaching her run group Startline, adventuring in the mountains, and training for her next triathlon race in Edmonton’s River Valley.
